Since March 1995 you can also access the Gemmipass in the wintertime on foot. This high Alpine winter hiking path is open from Christmas to Easter. It is only accessible during good weather and snow conditions and may be closed on short-term.

You can access the hiking path by snowshoes. Smaller tours, such as the Tatelishorn or alte Gemmi can also be accessed by snowshoes during avalanche-safe conditions.

The cablecar will be closed from March 19th till June 30th.
